Platte Lake

Platte Lake is located in Crow Wing and Morrison Counties of north-central Minnesota. It is six miles northeast of the town of Harding at the north end of the Mississippi River-Sartell Watershed. The Platte River flows through the lake and connects to Sullivan Lake.

This lake is 1,746 acres and approximately 23 feet deep at its deepest point. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Black Bullhead, Black Crappie, Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, Large mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Pumpkin seed, Walleye, Yellow Bullhead and Yellow Perch.  Crane, eagle, hawk, duck, geese, loon, and pelican are frequent flyers on our lake.

Fish and Wildife
Throughout the year, there is plenty of opportunity to see the activities of our precious wildlife. Whether it is the courtship of loons, deer on the island or  eagles fishing, our lake has abundant wildlife to photograph and view.

Volunteer Opportunities

Taking care of our lake is important to us. We appreciate any and all help from our volunteers. No one does anything singlehandedly, we rely on our groups or teams of people working together. If you can volunteer only once in a while, or on a regular basis, we look forward to your help.

Support our Lake
Recreation

Boating, Sailing, Swimming. The Lions sponsor a fishing Derby in August. The Association has an Annual Dinner and Meeting in May, and the Annual Picnic in August. Non members are welcome to attend!
